As the former Head of Global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) at Zscaler, Tonya designed and operationalized global strategy to integrate DEIB principles into people processes and talent programs to impact culture.
Before Zscaler, she was the Global VP of Employee Experience, Talent Development, Talent Management & IDEB at Twitch.
Tonya began her journey in Human Resources during her undergraduate years, when she worked at the University of Berkeley and discovered organizational development. This inspired her to pursue a degree in Industrial Psychology. After graduating from Cal State Hayward University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Psychology, Tonya jumped into the practice of talent management, development and design. Tonya is all about aligning people strategy with business strategy to achieve results for employees professionally and personally. This allows employees to bring their whole self to work.
Her work is focused on selection, employee experience, development & design, talent management, coaching and Inclusion, Equity, Diversity and Belonging. For over 20 years she has led teams in retail, energy, healthcare, and insurance industry at Safeway, PG & E, Kaiser Permanente, and AAA.
Tonya is a certified coach and holds a Master of Science in Education and Training from Capella University.
She is always focused on designing opportunities and experiences that help employees. Her goal is, simply, to help people LEARN and GROW and her personal mantra is: your past is not your potential!
