Thomas Kuh

Thomas Kuh, is the Head of ESG Strategy at Morningstar Indexes, where he is responsible for setting strategic priorities to accelerate the growth of ESG indexes. He joined Morningstar in January 2022 following FactSet's acquisition of Truvalue Labs, where he served as head of index.

From 2010 to 2017, Thomas was the first Global Head of ESG Indexes at MSCI, where he established the firm's ESG index business. During his tenure at MSCI, he led the creation of the first low carbon indexes and forged a strategic partnership with Barclays (now Bloomberg) to develop the first ESG fixed income index family.

Prior to MSCI, Thomas was instrumental in building KLD Research & Analytics into a leading provider of ESG research and indexes. He helped establish KLD’s index business unit, expanded its product line, and licensed one of its benchmarks for the first ESG ETF in 2005. KLD was acquired by RiskMetrics Group in 2009 and subsequently by MSCI in 2010.

Thomas is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Journal of Impact & ESG Investing.
