Stuart has over 35 years of experience working across General Electric (GE) businesses in the US and Asia. He has held senior positions across sales, services marketing and general management, with his previous position being the CEO of GE for the ASEAN region. General Electric is an American multinational conglomerate which operates across aviation, healthcare, power, renewable energy, digital industry, additive manufacturing, venture capital, finance, lighting, and oil and gas.
After leaving the US, Stuart started his international career as a Business Development Manager at GE International, based in Singapore with responsibilities for Southeast Asia and Australia. He was then promoted to President of GE Capital in Southeast Asia followed by President of GE in Indonesia before becoming CEO of all of GE’s business operations across the ASEAN region. He was previously a Senior Advisor for ASEAN Advisory, a corporate and government consultancy.
He serves on the Boards of AirAsia Berhad, Asia’s leading low-cost carrier, and the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA). He also serves on the Duke University Trinity College Board of Visitors and was recently recognized by the university with the Charles A. Duke award. Stuart is also a board member of Harvard Business School Asia Pacific and Junior Achievement Asia Pacific and is the Chairman of Junior Achievement Malaysia. He also serves on the Board of Orbis Asia which trains doctors to treat eye diseases (Orbis was founded by Fedex, Boeing and GE Capital).
