Sanjay is currently serving as President of Asia Pacific & Japan, Service Provider Business at Cisco. In his nearly three-decade long ICT career, Sanjay has worked across Europe, Asia Pacific, Japan, and Africa, holding leadership roles in multinational companies including the BT Group, Telia Swedtel, Ericsson, and Cisco.
Prior to joining Cisco he was EVP & CU Head at Ericsson. Sanjay has held a number of global leadership roles including being the Global VP & GM for the Service Layer business at the Ericsson headquarters in Sweden. Sanjay has provided strategic advice to telcos on topics including Mobile, Wireline, Broadcasting, Web, Media Players, ISP’s, as well as policy-makers on various strategic, technology and operational issues in a management consulting capacity.
One of Sanjay’s legacy achievements across all his roles is his ability to identify, cultivate and nurture future leaders, equipping them with the skills required to excel in this fast-paced ICT industry. Sanjay is a passionate proponent of true inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
Sanjay served as a Board member in GSMA representing Ericsson from 2010-12. He is serving on the Boards of GX Group, Netherlands, AUW Hong Kong, Board Chair for AUW Singapore. Sanjay is an alumni of National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India and Harvard Business School, USA.
Outside of his day job, Sanjay founded MKF, a non-profit organization focused on educating girls. He has also authored a book published by Wiley titled ‘Business Models for Sustainable Telecoms Growth’.
