Roberto Orlandi

When a project doesn’t go according to plan, Roberto is the man you want to fix the problem – he’s even won awards for his work, notably, the Microsoft-Cloud Operations & Innovations Award and the ExxonMobil-SABIC Project Delivery Award. He is currently the Director of Project Governance, Knowledge Management & Innovation at Microsoft.

Roberto began his career as a structural engineer but quickly found his passion in Project Management and Project Controls. He has held numerous global roles, including Director of Project Governance, Knowledge Management & Innovation at Microsoft. Throughout his career, he has taken on various roles, such as Project Manager on Giga-projects, Talent Development Coordinator, and Head of Finance Control, Engineering, and Communications in both General Contractor and Client organizations.

Roberto is known for his focus on strategy, synergy, continuous improvement, and analytics. However, he is most passionate about the growth and development of his employees and partners. He strongly believes in mentoring and empowering his teams to create the next generation of leaders and to create integrated teams between companies and partner organizations. His goal is to raise the bar across industries and achieve increasingly innovative solutions, so that each project becomes a shared success story.

Roberto has received numerous awards throughout his career – the Microsoft-Cloud Operations & Innovations Award, ExxonMobil-SABIC Project Delivery Award, SNC-Lavalin Most Agile Project Controls Award, CBI-Kentz Joint Venture Recognition of Excellence, and FIAT Group Services Best Employee Award.
