Robert Rockell

A highly accomplished Technology Executive with demonstrated success in network engineering and architecture, network operations, business transformation, DevOps, and data center operations, Rob Rockell is currently the Director of Core Network SRE at Google.

He was previously the Vice President of Network Infrastructure at Comcast, where he and his team designed and built the routing, switching and optical network infrastructure for the Comcast Cable business.

An early adopter and technologist, he’s authored standards for technologies such as IP Multicast and IPv6. He’s designed VPN Products and technology and has experience broadly across the Service Provider industry, from Telco to Cable, to Vendor environments. Rob has a double degree in Physics and Philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University. He enjoys time with his wife Deb and his two daughters Rosie and Gabby.
