Throughout his over 20-year long technology leadership career, Richard has led multiple multi-million-dollar large-scale transformational projects & programs with budgets up to US$1bn that have delivered significant cost savings, efficiencies and risk reductions in both domestic and international settings.

He was the former Global Head of Technology Services for Standard Chartered Bank, a leading international banking group with a presence in more than 60 of the world’s most dynamic markets. During his time there, Richard implemented Standard Bank’s Digital Workplace Transformation Program that delivered ~US$100M annual savings in operating costs, improved the Bank’s Net Promoter Score (NPS) by 53% and boosted VPN capacity by 10x. He also pioneered and deployed a new “Cloud First” strategy yielding cost savings of US$40M, improved server virtualization from 30% to 70%, and reduced obsolescence debt by 60%. As a result, Standard Chartered Bank received recognition as one of the top 10 global consumers of AWS spot instance capabilities.
