Mary Davis serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Special Olympics where she is committed to inclusivity and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, and leads a team of over 250 professionals globally. Her journey with the Special Olympics began after college as a local program volunteer and coach.
Mary played a significant role in key milestones, including being part of the team that organized the Special Olympics' first-ever Regional Games in 1985 and building a strong national program as CEO of Special Olympics Ireland. She served as the CEO of the first Special Olympics World Summer Games held outside the US in 2003, and later as the President & Managing Director of Europe Eurasia for eight years.
Recognized for her contributions, Mary received the Person of the Year Award for her work on the 2003 World Summer Games and her service with Special Olympics Ireland.
Beyond her role, Mary is an athlete, having run the New York City Marathon and conquered summits like Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Blanc.
