John Ho

John Ho leads the Legal, Financial Markets for Standard Chartered Bank, where he oversees and provides legal advisory, transactional and documentation support for Financial Markets business globally, its branches and affiliates. He is also the Chair/Head of Futures Industry Association.

As part of the role, he supports the digitisation and adoption of innovative technology initiatives such as blockchain, distributed ledger technology and smart contracts. He has been speaking at numerous conferences around the world on these topics and on the way they are transforming big financial institutions.

Prior to joining SCB, John was the Managing Director Principal in the legal department of Bear Stearns (Japan), where he supported the Asia franchise (including Tokyo, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, India and South-east Asia). In the past, he worked as Asia equity counsel for Lehman Brothers in Tokyo.
