Gareth is Chief Investment Officer and Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) for International Wealth Management at Nomura. Previously, he oversaw the Discretionary Portfolio Management at the Bank of Singapore, accounting for over USD8 billion in AUM.
He has over 14 years of investment management experience across London and Singapore, at two of the largest European asset management companies, Deutsche Bank Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management. His responsibilities included helping to steer one of the most significant derivative books in London during Lehman’s collapse, restructuring the risk framework for the European Fixed Income Funds during the European crisis and most recently, he’s been helping to build the Asian Fixed income business in Singapore.
Apart from his feats in the investment world, Gareth has completed a marathon around the Great Wall of China, a 1000km rickshaw race across India, a 7-day husky dog race across the Arctic circle, a 500km mountain bike race in East Timor, built schools in Cambodia and re-built homes in post-earthquake Nepal, whilst raising over a 100,000 USD for charities.
