Dr. Vasileios Vonikakis

Dr Vasileios Vonikakis is a senior researcher and team leader with in-depth experience in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Image Processing, specialising in creating IP and commercialising technology. He is currently a Senior Principal Engineer in Panasonic Industrial Devices Technology Centre, Singapore, where he leads an engineering team that develops machine learning models and AI technologies for human profiling and industrial visual inspection (Python, SciKit-Learn, Numpy, Scipy).

In the past, Vasileios was a researcher for the University of Rome “Sapienza” and the CRAS Institute of Aerospace Research, where he developed medical-grade image processing software for mammographic images. Between 2012-2017, Vasileios was a Research Scientist in the Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC), a research institute of the University of Illinois (UIUC) and A*Star, where he developed and commercialised computer vision technologies for face analysis.
