Umesh is a transformational change leader in the FMCG industry, who has worked with global personal care brands such as Pantene, Gillette, Sensodyne, L’Oréal, Garnier, Lancome and Maybelline. He was named one of the Top 10 CEOs of the year by SWA Magazine in 2021 for his groundbreaking work with L’Oréal, where he was formally the CTO of the SAPMENA (South Asia Pacific – Middle East – North Africa) region.
Umesh has over 27 years of experience at renowned companies such as P&G, GSK, and L’Oréal. His expertise spans multiple domains, including distributor setup, channel management, marketing strategy implementation, and achieving brand success.
During his time as President Director of L’Oréal for Indonesia (from 2016-2022), Umesh spearheaded the digital transformation of the business that catapulted the company to becoming the second largest care company in the country and one of the fastest growing players for the past several years. He actively shares his expertise through training programs focused on leadership, coaching, and change management.
Umesh is also an avid travel and street photographer. His photographs have been exhibited at the Indian Cultural Centre in Bangkok, featured in various publications and bought by art collectors.
